Artist's Comments
I thought about calling this one "Strange Pussy" but decided against it! This black cat belonged to the only two people who lived as far out as we were and he kept following us until Lani Picked him up.
Again it was high noon here, so the shadows on her face are a bit more harsh. I tweaked it a tad and actually ended up liking the way it looks. So here it is.
A very dynamic composition. I love the subtleties in this, such as how the tree in distance seams to lock the models face in place. Also the placement of the ridge of the hill following along with the cat's line of vision is very clever. The hill line is balanced by the diagonal created by her top blowing back. This piece is quite a treat!
